The deep, rich history of Zion Canyon is part of the reason it is so unique. The Zion Canyon has historical roots which date back to the Native people of the west. These native groups had many rituals and traditions which make their culture incredibly interesting.
One of the most beautiful parts of the native culture is the music. While there is a huge range of music genres, there is something special about native music and instruments. Nothing can awaken your senses make you feel at peace like the flutes, drums, and chants of native music.
If experiencing all that native music has to offer sounds like something you don’t want to miss, then make sure to attend the upcoming performances. You have three chances during next week to experience the joyful, yet haunting, melodies of native music.
Starting Sunday, March 5th, the musical festivities will begin at Zion Canyon Native Flute School. The first activity, starting at 7:00 pm on Sunday the 5th, is a drum circle hosted by the school. This gives everyone the chance to feel the percussion of native drums deep in their soul. You will be moved by the rhythm and walk away with an incredible feeling of inner peace.
The second performance, which will be held on Monday, March 6th at 6:00 pm, is a performance by the teachers. The teachers, who are fantastic musicians, will put on an unforgettable show. A mixture of native flutes and other instruments will combine to awaken your senses to a unique musical experience.
The last performance, taking place on Wednesday, March 8th at 6:00 pm, will show how much the students have progressed in their musical education. The students will perform as a conclusion to the series of musical concerts. With a room full of young talent, you are guaranteed to leave the concert feeling joyful and upbeat.
There is no charge for admission to any of the performances. Anyone can attend the performances, as well. All concerts are held at the Canyon Community Center at 126 Lion Boulevard, Springdale Utah 84767.
